Decision Making Day!

October 13 was the day when we were given our tests back. Everyone was dying to see their result. The anxiety got even worse when Professor Kurpis told us that half the class failed and the highest score was 86. After getting back our exam, we were given a chance to boost up our grade. We were told to decide what we wanted to do with the grades, and not only that, we were also given a chance to decide on the format of exam 2. To decide everything in limited time frame, we were kinda in a do or die situation. :p Eventually, with 100% voting, the class came up with the great idea that we would be given a curve, an extra credit assignment that's worth 10 points and drop the lowest grade among the two exams. Moreover, we also decided to keep the same format for exam 2, but the only change would be the essay thats going to be an extra credit
I think during the decision making process, everyone was on compromising and collaborating track. This was definitely a golden opportunity for everyone to boost up their grade. Everyone was throwing out ideas and we were trying to get the best out of it. In a nutshell, I think our class came up with a pretty good decision. :)

  1. I think this class decision help us to improve knowledge. Everyone was on compromising and collaborating track. Finally, we still get our decision to process. I also very enjoy this class decision and has fun.

  2. I think we came up with a great idea too, even though the whole process was kind of frustrating at times. I was actually rather accomodating, but I think this whole activity was a good experience for all of us and will help us in similar decision making situations in the future.

  3. I agree. I definetly think the class did a great job and made a decision that was satisfying for the majority of the class.

  4. This was definitely one of the most chaotic classroom situations i've ever been in. It's a good thing that we eventually figured out a civilized way to incorporate everyones ideas into a proposal. Which i realized wasn't really that difficult since everyone had the same goal: to get the squeeze the most points out as possible hah!
